Volunteering with 21st Century Leaders!
We are thrilled to be joining 21st Century Leaders (21CL) in delivering the G5@Goizueta event again this June! In just over 120 days, 50 high school students from across the state of Georgia will join together to participate in an exciting leadership development program on the campus of Emory University. ISHR Group is excited to be a part of this great event again this year. We provide pro bono services to facilitate a portion of the program designed to provide these students with a look at who they are. We utilize the Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI) to provide students with an idea of their ‘thinking preferences’ … their leadership style, how they prefer to communicate, how to respond to change, how they handle conflict, etc.
21st Century Leaders operates under the charter of Georgia Business Forum, Inc. and is a non-profit organization that collaborates with business and education leaders to develop, inspire and nurture students with leadership potential to make a positive impact on their schools, communities and future places of work. The mission of 21st Century Leaders is to increase the number, skills and diversity of Georgia’s future leaders.
21st Century Leaders hail from over 130 high schools across the state of Georgia. They are truly a picture of Georgia; they are urban and rural, minority and majority, male and female. They come from differing economic circumstances and family backgrounds. Since 1991, over 3,800 students have participated in 21st Century Leaders; 97% enter college and 72% report taking on formal leadership roles in their colleges and communities after high school. These students lead community service projects, take on high profile summer internships, and are hired as summer program leaders. Students lead faith-based groups and mentor younger students; they are truly making a difference in their communities!
The G5@Goizueta program is unique amongst the programs that 21CL delivers in that members of the Atlanta Business Chronicle “40-Under-40 Awards” are the ones that design and deliver this program in its entirety. We call the 5-day program G5@Goizueta because is focuses on:
At ISHR Group, we are passionate about developing leaders – particularly influencing our future ‘young’ leaders. We enjoy conducting our workshops on leadership – and the results are truly found in the joy of giving back to these future leaders. Seeing the “aha’s” on the faces of these young adults last summer was amazing, and we look forward to meeting a new ‘class’ of 21st Century Leaders in June.
